Pre-season special: Corners and resulting shots for every team
Including 3 newly promoted sides
Data Dribble is back after a summer hiatus!
After being very busy on Twitter for the last 5 weeks, it’s time to throw a regular Wednesday newsletter into the mix again.
You know the drill by now, folks - I’m here with more valuable data.
After all, FPL is a game of information, and every little bit can help.
I’m not going to lie. In several months from now, this type of article will have a much bigger value.
But even now, it’s helpful to have a good understanding of what happened last season.
Which teams were effective from corners?
Which were the most vulnerable from set pieces in general?
Who were the most frequent takers?
Which players had the most shooting attempts?
It’s all there.
Including 3 newly promoted teams and a short commentary where needed.
Note: only long corners were taken into account

As you’ll see in the rest of the article, taking 90% of long corners is VERY UNUSUAL
That partly explains why Davis recorded a hefty 18 assists from the full-back position (also unusual)
From the total of 12 expected assists, 5.6 came from the set pieces
Ipswich were ranked 11th in terms of expected goals (xG) created from these situations, so let’s see what harm Premier League defending does to his overall production
